Up to 50 MB and 16 megapixels. PNG, JPG, WebP and other images your browser can decode. Animated files export one still frame.

Choose an image or try the sample. No AI or media engine download.

Images stay on your device. Output is limited to 16 megapixels and 8192 pixels per side. Larger files can take longer on older devices. Resizing does not restore missing detail.

Resize an image to exact pixels without uploading it

This free image resizer changes the pixel dimensions of a local image. It works directly in your browser, so there is no upload queue, server conversion, or AI model to download. Use it for screenshots in a guide, website illustrations, product photos, extracted video frames, and social covers that need a specific canvas size.

How to resize a JPG, PNG or WebP

  1. Choose an image or try the sample. Check its original width and height.
  2. Enter a width. With the aspect-ratio lock enabled, the height follows the original proportions. To request an exact box such as 1280 × 720, turn off the lock and enter both values, or choose a preset.
  3. Select Fit to keep the whole image, Fill to crop the centre, or Stretch if changing proportions is intentional.
  4. Choose an output format, resize, and check the preview and displayed dimensions before downloading.

Keep proportions, crop to fit, or add space?

For a screenshot with readable text, keep proportions and reduce its width only as far as necessary. A 1600 × 900 screenshot resized to 800 pixels wide becomes 800 × 450. For a square cover from a landscape source, use a 1080 × 1080 canvas: Fit keeps everything with padding, while Fill crops the sides. Stretch fills the box by distorting the image and is usually unsuitable for faces or logos.

Padding is transparent in PNG and WebP. JPG does not support transparency; the selected background color fills transparent areas and padding. Crop placement is centred, so check that your subject remains inside the result.

Choose the right download format

PNG preserves transparency and avoids additional lossy compression, making it useful for logos, diagrams and screenshots. JPG is often smaller for photographs; its quality setting trades detail for file size. WebP can keep transparency and reduce download size, but your browser must support WebP export. The tool checks the actual exported format instead of giving a PNG file a WebP extension.

Resizing pixels and compressing a file are related but different. A smaller image often uses fewer bytes, yet its final file size also depends on content, format and quality. This tool reports the actual output size; it does not promise an exact KB target. Exporting PNG does not make an enlarged image recover lost detail.

Resize extracted frames for your next project

First capture a full-resolution video frame, then resize a copy for a thumbnail, tutorial or page illustration. For a transparent image that needs a simple 2× enlargement, try fast image enlargement. Keep your original file if you may need another crop later.

Can I resize a PNG without losing transparency?

Yes. Choose PNG or WebP output. The browser preserves the image's alpha channel and leaves unused Fit padding transparent. JPG replaces transparency with your selected background color.

Can I resize an image to 1920 × 1080 without cropping?

Set that canvas size and choose Fit. If the source has a different aspect ratio, padding is required to keep the entire image. Choose Fill only if cropping is acceptable.

Does my image leave my device?

The resizer does not upload your selected image. Your browser downloads the page and small processing scripts from the website; processing and export happen on your device. See our privacy policy for website request and contact-form information.

Will it resize HEIC, RAW, TIFF or animated GIF files?

Input support depends on your browser's decoder. Convert unsupported HEIC, RAW, TIFF or PSD images to PNG or JPG first. Animated GIF and WebP images become one still frame, not a resized animation.

Why can a larger output look blurry?

Enlargement creates more pixels from the existing image; it cannot recover information that was never captured. Use the original high-resolution source whenever possible, and inspect text and edges before sharing.
